I thought Devilman Crybaby was too gory and aimless at first. I slowly worked my way through the first 4 episodes, but I think it was after episode 5 or so that something clicked and it got really good. The second half brings it all together in my opinion, with the depiction of the difference between humanity and demons. The ending in particular really pulls out all the stops and is a spectacle to behold.
If Zach gave it 6 episodes then that’s fair, but Jellokun you sound interested so you should give it 5 episodes.

I’m on episode 7 and I agree at first it seems to gory and tons of sexy for the sake of being there but your right its starting to build and I’m really enjoying it.
Count me as one of the people who watched Code G for the political shenanigans and then stopped watching it when it moved away from that and became rather ridiculously wacky…then rewatched once it became popular with the mindset of ok I will watch this for crazy and then enjoyed it.
And man don’t knock gory and sexy for sake of gory and sexy! I mean the whole of us horror movies and new movies like Saw are pretty much that right?
